FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: catalytic converter is furnished additionally with partition to connected second reactor with holes and slots, the latter being made over edges of partition along housing of catalytic converter. Partition to connect second reactor is located before second reactor catalyst, square to direction of gas flow, and gas flow automatic distributor consists of connecting branch pipes, hinge joints and pull-back springs. Connecting branch pipes are hinge-coupled with holes made in partition of first reactor, coaxially with holes in partition designed for connection of second reactor. First reactor communicates with outlet branch pipe through connecting branch pipes and slots in second reactor connection partition. Pull-back springs are secured between connecting branch pipes and first reactor partition. EFFECT: simplified design of converter and increased service life owing to automatic distribution of gas flow. 2 dwg
