FIELD: non-destructive tests, diagnostics of metal with running processes of high-temperature creepage, heat power industry. SUBSTANCE: ultrasonic surface wave is directed along axial passage of rotor with base between radiator and detector being constant and over perimeter of its cross- section. Propagation time of these waves across examined and standard sections of rotor is measured, velocity of propagation of ultrasonic surface waves is found. State of metal and prediction of its residual life are conducted by value of residual deformation and by dependence of change of velocity of ultrasonic surface waves on density of micropores of creepage. Propagation time of ultrasonic surface waves along axial passage of rotor and over perimeter of its cross-section are conducted after removal of scale. Reference part is cold part of rotor. EFFECT: increased accuracy of evaluation and prediction of residual life of turbines and reduced labor input into procedure. 2 cl
