FIELD: zirconium base alloy and tubes made of such alloy. SUBSTANCE: alloy used for manufacturing fuel rod sealing tubes contains 0.03-0.2 cumulative percent of iron and one of elements of group formed by chromium and vanadium, 0.8-1.3 mass percent of niobium, less than 2000 ppm of tin, 500-2000 ppm of oxygen, less than 100 ppm of carbon, 5-35 ppm of sulfur, and less than 50 ppm of silicon. Fuel rod sealing tube is made of such alloy. Same alloy is used to produce strip. Tube manufacturing process includes rod production from alloy, its hardening in water after heating, billet extrusion, cold rolling, and heat treatment in inert environment or in vacuum. Tube composition ensures easy in-process rolling. EFFECT: enhanced corrosion resistance of alloy and tubes. 11 cl, 3 tbl
