FIELD: electric drives for mechanisms supplied with power from single- phase ac mains. SUBSTANCE: motor has stator with cylindrical bore in its core accommodating three or more phase leads of stator winding symmetrically arranged therein and connected in star with neutral wire brought out. Cylindrical rotor has as many squirrel-cage windings as there are stator winding poles. Supply voltage is alternately applied to stator phase leads through stator- mounted thyristors of semiconductor switch in response to control signals coming from rotor position sensor through electronic control system. The latter may be used to change sequence of signal coming from sensor to open thyristors for motor reversal. Sensor adjustment is optimized until maximal magnitude and minimal pulsation of motor shaft torque are attained. Due to rotation of magnetic axes of stator winding flux semiconductor switch can be mounted on stator instead of on revolving rotor.
