FIELD: creation of self-propelled, self-controlled underwater shells, in particular, creation of hydrodynamic tanks for determination of dynamic characteristics of models of underwater shells. SUBSTANCE: the installation is provided with a longitudinal beam with cross-pieces on its ends attached to the lateral set of the water reservoir. Two cables located one above the other are tensioned between the cross-pieces, with the shell model installed on rollers. The launching tube is made in the form of two semi-cylinders enveloping the cables, hinge-joined to the brackets installed on the beam and linked by levers with the tie-rod for opening-closing of the pipe. The braking device is made in the form of a braking form placed on rollers horizontally across the direction of motion of the braking form shell model. The rollers are installed on cantilever posts attached to the beam cross-piece. The gripping device of the braking cable is made in the form of two spring-loaded plates with a roller installed in the center of the shell model hose extremity.
