FIELD: medical equipment. SUBSTANCE: surgical instrument is made in the form of scissors, forceps or clips and has body with movable replaceable working parts arranged for rotation and fixation, tie- rod, actuating members and handles for holding and controlling surgical instrument. Fixation mechanism controlling device is equipped with arm mounted on spindle at higher level than loop of immovable handle 7. Spring disposed in slot formed in handle is adapted for engagement with arm. One end of spring is secured to spindle and other end is connected through other spring to slide block fixed to spindle. End of slide block is engageable to toothed surface of rack-and-pinion mechanism supported by pin of immovable handle 7 and to spindle connected with movable handle. Arm may be located in any of three positions: middle, lower and upper positions, in accordance with following states: fixation mechanism in operating state, temporarily disconnected and entirely disconnected. It allows operating parts to be prevented from being randomly closed during operation. Also, surgical instrument may be used in any free mode that surgeon finds necessary, for example, without using fixation mechanism. Surgical instrument of such construction is preferably used for performing intracavitary-endosurgical operations. EFFECT: simplified construction and increased efficiency. 3 cl, 5 dwg
