FIELD: polymer materials. SUBSTANCE: polymer material for hydrogel contact lens is prepared by radical synthesis, in particular copolymerization of 50-80% N- vinylpyrrolidone, 10-40% 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, 5-15% methyl methacrylate in presence of 0.005 to 5% cross-linking agent, more specifically bifunctional methacrylic acid derivatives, and 0.01 to 1% radical (co)polymerization initiator, more specifically azodiisobobutyronitrile.
