FIELD: sealing technology, pulse end seals in particular; sealing revolving shafts of pumps, turbines and compressors. SUBSTANCE: proposed seal includes axially-movable ring fitted in housing and pressed by spring and bearing metal ring secured on shaft. Working surface of axially-movable ring has several chambers intermittently located over circumference of ring. On butt of bearing ring there are several tangential passages connected with medium to be sealed; center sections of these passages are located at distance from axis equal to distance of chambers of axially movable ring. Number of passages is lesser than number of chambers and therefore they may bring in communication with high-pressure cavity only part of chambers. Secondary seal is made integral with metal axially-movable ring and is located on its rear side. It is made in form of profiled metal taper tab with torus contact surface. Configuration of sections of sealing rings is made in such way that sum of moment of forces acting on ring in these sections relative to their CG is equal to zero. EFFECT: possibility of using such seals in turbo-pump units of liquid-propellant engines working on cryogenic components, thus reducing leakage through seal to 0.1-0.7 l/s. 7 cl, 4 dwg
