FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrophysical and electrochemical processing, in particular to electroerosive alloying, and may be used to treat the surfaces of elements of impact mechanical seals (IMS) operating in cryogenic media. One variant of the method includes processing of the end faces of the rings from the heat-resistant nickel alloy KhN58MBYuD by the method of electroerosive doping with a graphite electrode and successive deposition of the layers of the combined electroerosive coating of the type VK8 alloy VK8-Cu alloy or VK8 alloy - VK8-Ni alloy, the first and second VK8 hard alloy layers are applied at a discharge energy of Wu = 0.2 J and Wu = 0.04 J, respectively, and a third layer of copper or nickel is deposited at a discharge energy of Wu = 0.04 J. Second variant of the method includes processing of the end surfaces of the rings of beryllium bronze BrB2 by the method of electroerosive doping with a graphite electrode and the subsequent application of an electroerosive coating of chromium at a discharge energy of Wu = 0.4 J.

EFFECT: invention provides an increase in wear resistance of the face surfaces of the rings of the pulse mechanical seal operating in cryogenic media, due to the provision of the given tribotechnical and mechanical properties in the surface layers of the impact mechanical seal.
