QUICK-RELEASE JOINT FOR PIPES Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: space engineering; units of hydraulic systems; mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed quick-release joint has stationary and changeable bodies provided with built-in shut-off valves, ball lock including balls and spring-loaded bush which has slot at angle of 14 to 20 deg. inside which pin is located. Inner butt of spring-loaded bush has slot inclined to one side relative to pin; butt of changeable body has slot inclined to opposite side relative to pin. Slots form angle of 70 to 90 deg. between them. Spring tabs are engageable with these slots. Spring tabs are bent along axis and are made in one plane. Spring-loaded bush has longitudinal grooves whose depth exceeds amount of projection of balls above changeable body; its radius exceeds radius of ball. Axis of hole for ball found in changeable body is located in one plane with axis of hole for pin. Axis of longitudinal groove of spring-loaded bush is shifted relative to axis of hole for ball in changeable body by angle of 12 to 18 deg. EFFECT: possibility of uncoupling quick-release joint with main kept under pressure. 7 dwg
