FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves treating lipoid necrobiosis lesion foci with external infrared laser radiation on the background of diabetic diet and sugar level reducing preparations. The laser radiation is applied in contact way. Laser radiation of 0.87-0.91 mcm wavelength, impulse frequency of 270-330 Hz, power density of 0.58-0.62 J/cm2 is used. Each necrobiosis lesion area is treated 2-3 min one after another in turn, not more then 5 areas being treated in the same session. Total duration of the sessions is equal to 10-15 min. The irradiation is carried out daily or every second day. The total treatment course is 6-8 sessions long. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of treatment; avoided adverse side effects and complications.
