FIELD: biotechnology, microbiology. SUBSTANCE: method involves culturing species of Streptomyces producing clavulanic acid in cultural fluid containing assimilable sources of carbon and nitrogen being a concentration of phosphorus in cultural fluid at the growth phase below 40 h is less 0.15 wt. -%/vol. After 40 h of fermentation a decrease of phosphorus concentration is permitted and a phosphorus source is not added. The preferable source of assimilable nitrogen is flour or other sources but not ammonia. In definite concentrations of sources of carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus microorganisms of species Str. clavuligerus, Str. jumonjinensis, Str. Katsurahamanus or Str. sp. P 6621 are grown. Method ensures to increase of the yield of clavulanic acid and can be used in commercial scales (at volumes of fermenters up to 5 x 104 l). EFFECT: improved method of clavulanic acid producing. 14 cl, 4 tbl
