FIELD: devices for rotation of rod strings applicable in pumping units and in hydraulic drives, mechanisms of pumping units for lifting of fluids from great depths. SUBSTANCE: device for rod string rotation has rod rotor 1 having body 2 and lever 3. Turning drive of lever 3 is made in the form of regulated post 4 having from one side unit 5 for securing to wellhead 6, and from the other side, member 7 for engagement with lever 3. Installed on body 2 of rod rotor 1 is limiter 9 of turning of lever 3. During operation of device, motion from member 7 is reliably transmitted to lever 3 without intermediate units complicating the design. Length L of arm of lever 3 exceeds distance 1 from axle 10 of its rocking to member 7. Member 7 is made in the form of cylinder coming in contact with side surface 8 of lever 3. EFFECT: simplified design, higher reliability and lower cost. 2 dwg
