FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: invention is related to turning of string of pump bars with stroke of plunger of well pump. Mechanism turning polished rod includes worm wheel made fast to polished rod and worm shaft aligned with worm wheel. Converter includes overrunning clutch coupled to work shaft, gear wheel and rack. Rack has contact protrusion installed for interaction with working surface of template of program block. Program block includes lever carrying template, two rests- limiters and weighting compounds. Template has various forms of working surfaces. Position of level on support, arrangement of rests-limiters and weighting compound with reference to lever makes it feasible to specify program of rotation of string of pump bars in direction of translation of string of pump bars required by technological modes of operation of well pump installation. EFFECT: expanded technical capabilities of rotator thanks to provision of possibility of rotation of string of pump bars both with upward and downward strokes or with downward stroke only or with upward stroke only. 5 cl, 11 dwg
