FIELD: production of upholstered furniture. SUBSTANCE: mat has base and plurality of supporting members made in the form of regular prisms with rounded ends. Individual vertical supporting members are arranged immediately adjacent one another for rectilinear progressive movement perpendicular to base surface. Supporting members are made hollow and provided with vent openings formed in their side surfaces. Mat is hermetically sealed and filled with air or liquid, and is equipped with valve for adjusting pressure in mat cavity. Shock-absorbing members under rigid base are adapted for changing mat resiliency. Supporting members are positioned on flexible non-stretchable upper surface of mat and engaged one with another with their side surfaces. Such construction prevents user's body from rolling in horizontal direction, from embracing and pressing user's body by mat due to independent adjustment of resiliency and softness of mat, and also by improved venting and absorption of aero or hydrodynamic shock in case of overloading.
