FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to damping of mechanical vibrations, particularly, at carrier suspensions. Damper comprises electronically controlled pressure device with replaceable brake shoes furnished with appliance for fastening said pressure device to the object. Inside said shoes arranged is the brake rod to displace therein without falling out, its cross-section can have whatever shape. Damping is performed by controlled mechanical friction between working surfaces of brake shoes and brake rod. Damper is operated under control of computer or processor equipped with special programs including several damping characteristics for various road conditions and manual and/or automatic driver-selected driving mode. Said computer or processor monitors damper operation in response to signals from damper transducers. Damper can be both at the front or rear of the carrier. One computer or processor can be used for control over operation of several dampers. Said damper can be integrated with leaf spring or without it.
EFFECT: simplified design, higher quality of damping.
