FIELD: measurement technology, measurement of water content of loose materials in laboratory. SUBSTANCE: device measuring water content of loose media includes insulated electrodes located in space of sample inlet chamber and fixed in holes made in its bottom part with provision of coupling of electrodes with measurement converter. Separable gear for compaction of sample including lead screw, piston and calibrated spring installed between them is mounted above sample inlet chamber and interacts with lead screw with one end and with piston with the other end. Limiting screw is placed along axis in opposition to lead screw and protrudes beyond its surface by specified distance. Opposite end of lead screw has handle turned manually. Electrodes come in the form of two semi-cylinders fitting snugly to opposite sections of side surface of sample inlet chamber and butts of limiting screw and lead screw are provided with coupling interacting elements. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of device, simplified approach to precise keeping of specified pressure in the course of measurement taken many times, formation of most favorable conditions for operation of electrodes of capacitive converter. 3 cl, 1 dwg
