SUBSTANCE: proposed electrical machine that may be used as valve-type dc or ac generator and also as electromagnetic section of contactless dc or ac motor has stator whose teeth carry m-phase winding and rotor with 2p alternating poles. Stator tooth number Z is a multiple of m. Z and pole pair number 2p are chosen to ensure that difference between them were ±l, where l is minimal integer number. Novelty is that relationship between rotor active length L and number of uniformly disposed stator teeth Z is found from , where Z = 2p±l.
