FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed electrical machine that can be used in off-line electrical equipment as dc or ac power supply (dc or ac thyratron generator) and also as electromechanical dc or ac thyratron motor has stator whose teeth carry m-phase winding and rotor with 2p alternating poles. Stator tooth number z is a multiple of phase number m, z number and rotor pole number 2p are chosen to provide for |I| > 1 difference between them; m-phase winding is wound so that direction of turns on stator teeth within coil group is alternating and slot opening angle αs depends on design and engineering restrictions as function of z chosen from equation
EFFECT: reduced specific loss, reactive torque, and mechanical noise in motor.
