FIELD: metallurgy; thermochemical treatment of iron-based alloys mainly produced through sintering of powder; mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method includes heating articles in furnace in layer of inert material fluidized by steam. Article is preliminarily heated to 150-200 C in layer of inert material fluidized by air followed by heating to 400-570 C; fluidizing by steam is effected through continuous delivery of water directly to furnace gas distributor. EFFECT: avoidance of steam heater in technological line; facilitated process due to intermittent delivery of water to working space; reduced duration of process; enhanced corrosion resistance of powder articles. 2 cl, 1 ex
