FIELD: construction and operation of oil and gas wells, containment of mechanical impurities and filtration of formation fluid. SUBSTANCE: proposed well strainer comprises body with perforation holes, filtering jacket formed by turns of wire put of longitudinal bars-stringers, enclosure forming chamber jointly with body hydraulically coupled through perforation holes to axial conduit. Enclosure comes in the form of sectional elements placed beneath turns of filtering jacket. Sectional elements have shape of semi-cylinder, triangle or trapezium and are positioned with clearance with reference to turns of wire. EFFECT: simplified design, raised porosity. 1 cl, 4 dwg
