MULTIUNION DETACHABLE UNIT Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: spacecraft: joining and unjoining of air and hydraulic main lines of craft and ground complex. SUBSTANCE: multiunion detachable unit has on-board and separation plates connected by lock drive and locking device. On-board plate is secured on board the craft. Multiunion detachable unit has adapter plate and aligning pins hermetically sealed and fitted-in asymmetrically relative to its axis. On-board plate forms together with adapter plate a hermetically sealed interplate space. Housing is secured on separation plate through heat insulating gasket on adapter plate forming hermetically sealed volume with these plates. Air and hydraulic main lines are provided with temperature compensators secured in adapter and separation plates. Temperature compensators are installed in separation plate through heat insulating gaskets. Feed and drain main lines are covered with heat insulation. To prevent getting of impurities at connection of lines, filtering members are installed in charging main lines from side of separation plate, an press-off valves are installed from side of on-board plate. EFFECT: provision of fire and explosion safety ands reliability at cryogenic temperatures. 6 dwg
