MULTIUNION DETACHABLE UNIT Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: spacecraft; joining and unjoining of drain and charging main lines of last stages of rocket and space systems. SUBSTANCE: multiunion detachable unit has on-board and ground plates. Drain main line of on-board plate of unit has hermetically fastened adapter and nozzle and cup with springs made to provided minimum hydraulic resistances to flow. Cup is made with outer end face, support step and groove. Adapter is provided with through radial holes and ring groove. Nozzle has bottom with divider, ring flange, groove and through slots uniformly spaced and perpendicular relative to nozzle axis arranged between groove and bottom. Shutoff members are fitted in adapter holes. On-board and ground plates form sealed space accommodating end seals of main lines and locking mechanisms secured in ground plate. EFFECT: prevention of influence of reactive force of draining component jet onto trajectory of last stage of rocket-and-space system at autonomy flight and improved explosion-and-dire safety of said unit. 6 dwg
