FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for getting information from movable railway object having no self-contained supply sources. Passive object identification receiver-transponder constant code is installed on platforms of train cars and on each wheelset. Passive object identification receivers-transponder with constant code closed by locking device are fitted on openable parts of containers. Receivers-transponders installed on openable parts of containers of car platform bodies and wheelsets, getting in electromagnetic field<frequency from 700 Hz to 2.75 GHz built by stationary reader, start operating to transmit information to reader. Reader is set into operation by switch installed in train route. With bogie passing by switch, switching signal is transmitted from switch to reader which memorizes time between passages of first and second bogies along switch, and by type pf car received in form of code information, reader determines distance between first and second wheel bogies and speed of running finding length and running speed basing on type of each car. Reader switches off after passing of train. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities, improved accuracy of obtained information. 2 cl, 4 dwg
