FIELD: production of activated carbons and organic products from coal-containing raw materials; applicable in various industries for purification of various substances and their sorption from liquid and other media. SUBSTANCE: method includes stages of preliminary heating of coal-containing raw materials to temperature of 120-150 C, carbonization within temperature range from 150-250 to 600-700 C, activation within temperatures of 850-950 C, and maturing. Process of processing of coal-containing raw materials is carried out in oxygen-free medium with supply of dry nitrogen to maturing stage in countercurrent to solid product, and direction of vapor-gas mixture from maturing to carbonization stages by countercurrent to solid product of carbonization. Stages of preliminary heating of raw materials and carbonization are conducted in presence of catalytic additives. Activation process is carried out in falling flow of solid product of carbonization rotating under action of vapor-gas mixture directed at pressure tangentially to solid product. Method is realized in plant having successively connected by means of overflowing branch pipes, chambers of preliminary heating and carbonization located under each other and provided with heaters, and also activation and maturing chambers. EFFECT: complex processing of raw materials and production of activated carbon with high sorption capacity due to increase of volume of micro and mezzo pores with reduced time of process conduction including carbonization and activation. 3 cl, 2 dwg, 3 tbl
