FIELD: petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: in particular, invention relates to continuous purification of motor fuels containing sulfur compounds. Purification is accomplished by bringing hydrocarbon fraction into contact with circulating absorbent, namely aqueous alkali solution, oxidation of sulfur compounds in presence of catalyst, separation of aqueous and hydrocarbon phases, and using the former as circulating absorbent. Oxidant represents reaction system containing hydrogen peroxide, catalyst, and formed oxygen-containing sulfur compounds. Reactivity of absorbent is restored by recompensing consumed alkali, catalyst, and hydrogen peroxide. Oxidation of sulfur compounds occurs at 5 to 45 C without preheating of reactants, absorption solution being used repeatedly without separation of water-soluble oxygen-containing compounds. EFFECT: enabled achieving required degree of purification, residual amount of sulfur compounds not exceeding 0,005 wt %. 5 cl, 1 tbl, 13 ex
