FIELD: petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: hydrocarbon purification process comprises treatment of hydrocarbon fraction with water-alkali solutions containing polar organic additives followed by air-oxygen oxidation in presence of sulfurized phthalocyanine catalysts at 10 to 80 C and pressure from 0.15 to 3.0 MPa, said polar organic additives being water-soluble primary and secondary amines, alkylamides, and their mixtures in amounts of 0.7 to 2.5 mole per 1 mole sulfur bound in COS and CS2. Alkali solution may be further supplemented by up to 20% of mono- and polyatomic alcohols.
