FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: in a process of manufacturing wool from bast fibers, especially from flax fibers, the latter are first subjected to mechanical treatment and then chemical treatment including chemical removal of impurities and whitening by way of acidification followed by oxidative boiling, treatment with peroxidecontaining solution, washing, and souring. Fiber is finally garneted. EFFECT: increased economical efficiency and environmental safety of process, increased qualitative characteristics of wool. 2 tbl
