FIELD: radiolocation, location of objects with use of secondary radiation of radio waves. SUBSTANCE: procedure includes emission of interrogation signal, reception of this signal by receiver located on object, emission of identification signal by transmitter also located on object, reception of identification signal, determination of position of source of identification signal by obtained data. Identification signal is emitted following time interval specified by owner of object after reception of interrogation signal. Audio, infrared, optical, radio and other signals are employed in procedure. Device for realization of procedure and search for lost objects has transceiver stations, radio responder put on object, processing center. Radio responder incorporates receiver and decoder connected in series, encoder, modulator and high-frequency generator connected in series and timer. Input and output of the latter are connected correspondingly to output of decoder and input of encoder, radio responder is located on object as its integral part inaccessible for disconnection or removal. EFFECT: enhanced reliability in determination of position of lost object. 4 cl, 2 dwg
