FIELD: railway power supply systems. SUBSTANCE: the device for filtering of higher harmonics of traction loads, their balancing and compensation of reactive power provides for filtering of traction load currents due to introduction of an active-capacitance shunt to the device for compensation of reactive power. In this case for the first harmonic the power loss in the shunt resistor gets reduced by 4 times as compared with the prototype, and the harmonic filtering increases by 14-15 times as compared with the compensation device without any shunt, and by 3-4 times as compared with the prototype. EFFECT: enhanced filtering action of the device with respect to the higher harmonics of traction currents of the supply branches of the traction substations and reduced active power loss in the shunt at a frequency of 50 Hz. 2 cl, 1 dwg
