FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to power supply of alternating current railways, in particular, to an automation system for devices intended for the filtration of higher harmonics of current and voltage and compensation of the traction load reactive power (filtering and compensating device - FCD). FCD comprises filters per 150 Hz and 250 Hz and a pass-band filter with a resistor to filter harmonics of 350 Hz and higher. In order to reduce power losses it is suggested to introduce a contactor into FCD to switch off the resistor of the pass-band filter at low voltage values of higher harmonics.
EFFECT: reduced power losses in FCD.
