FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: hinge mechanism of vehicle seat has first and second base parts 7, 8 connected for relative turning, parts 11 of locking device which can engages with teeth 13 of one of base parts to interlock mechanism, and at least one stop 14 connected to second base part 7 and arranged so that part 11 of locking device thrust at angle against said stop when hinge mechanism is exposed to action of torque in first direction of rotation. When part of locking device is in locked position and torque exceeds maximum value, stop shifts towards part of additional locking device and presses the part to teeth of first base part to interlock the latter. EFFECT: prevention of breakage of mechanism at heavy torques. 9 cl, 6 dwg
