FIELD: development of oil deposits; applicable in development of oil deposits with a large number of wells and with prolonged terms of operation. SUBSTANCE: method includes creation of simulation system from hierarchically interrelated members. Base member is a field of specific areas. It is constructed by application of units of calculation scale to the nearest well. All geological and geographical parameters within every specific area are taken constant. Member-well is formed from a set of specific areas through which said well runs. Combined into member-formation are specific areas relating to one zonal interval. Member-lens is comprised of formation parts isolated from one another by zones of nonreservoirs. Member-geological body is formed from many member-lenses hydrodynamically interconnected through zones of formations coalescence. Member-object of development includes geological bodies on which simultaneously perforated are acting producing and/or injection wells. Formed from a set of all members-objects of development is simulation system member-pool. Then, in accordance with simulation system, automated distribution of withdrawals of oil, water is effected and injections into formation are performed. Coefficients of coverage by waterflooding is calculated. Residual oil saturation and specific residual reserves of oil for each formation of every well are determined. After that, method of treatment of each formation and wells for its realization are selected depending on depletion of oil reserves over area and section of oil pool. EFFECT: increased accuracy of calculation of residual oil reserves for selection of measures to be undertaken in each well and formation. 2 dwg, 2 tbl
