FIELD: analytical methods in oil and chemical industries. SUBSTANCE: in a method of determining toxic impurities in gas including sorption of toxic impurities by way of passing test gas through sorbent and subsequent thermal desorption of toxic impurities followed by registration of toxic impurities, said sorbent being strontium sulfate deposited in amount 3-4 wt.% on the surface of "Dinokhrom P" fractions 0.5-0.63 mm, said sorption of toxic impurities being accomplished at temperature of sorbent not superior to 85 C, and thermal desorption of toxic impurities being conducted in gas-carrier flow at temperature of sorbent 250-350 C. Method provides high sensitivity in determining low-volatile toxic impurities used as antiknock additives and additives lowering smoke and snuff formation, enables use of atmospheric air as gas-carrier in thermal desorption process, enables determining of high-boiling toxic impurities at elevated to 98% at 20 C relative humidity of test gas.
