FIELD: medicine, pulmonary surgery. SUBSTANCE: pleural cavity is lanced, a lung is resected, pleural cavity is drained, the wound of thoracic wall is sutured. Along with the main operation one should cause stimulation of pleural and pulmonary receptors at the opposite side either by introducing a stimulant into pleural cavity or affecting afferent nerves which participate in the innervation of this anatomic area. EFFECT: improved oxygenation of body tissues.
