FIELD: medicine, surgery.
SUBSTANCE: after fulfilling pulmonary resection one should cross ribs I and II at sternum and vertebral column. Further ribs, their quantity depends upon concrete clinical situation, should be crossed at vertebral column only, then crossed ribs in descending order should be descended downwards to be fixed with the help of ligatures to posterior department of superior unaffected rib, residues of apical and superior departments of mediastinal pleura should be applied to form new cupola of pleural cavity, drain and suture it by layers that keeps costal carcass and enables to avoid floatation of thoracic wall in postoperational period.
EFFECT: decreased cosmetic defect.
