LUMBER DRYING UNIT Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: wood processing industry; lumber drying. SUBSTANCE: proposed lumber drying unit has two similar drying chambers connected in parallel by means of drying agent preparation system (gas blowers and air ducts) and provided with distributors for alternate transfer of drying agent from one drying chamber to other drying chamber ensuring alternating pressure in these chambers and reversing transversal flow of drying agent through stack. Rotors of said distributors are mounted at relative angular shift of 180 deg. and their shafts are kinematically interconnected by means of adjustable drive. Proposed unit is provided with recuperator to exclude losses of heat with hot moist air evacuated from drying chamber; said recuperator is connected by means of pipe unions with excessive pressure and rarefaction zones of drying agent preparation system working in parallel counter-flow scheme; it is also provided with devices for regulating air flow rate in supply and discharge pipe lines. EFFECT: intensification of drying process; improved quality of drying; reduced specific power requirements; simplified process control scheme. 2 cl, 5 dwg
