FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines; testing and diagnosing facilities. SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for checking condition of cylinder-piston group of internal combustion engine by measuring compression in engine cylinders. Invention makes it possible to create universal device for checking compression in cylinders of diesel engines of different models with provision of reliable fastening of device in nozzle mounting hole and reliable sealing of hole in process of measurement of pressure in cylinder at simultaneous reduction of labor input. Device can be used also for different carburetor engines. According to invention, device has pressure sensor, housing with hollow tip for mating with mounting hole of spark plug or cylinder nozzle and provided with inner channel communicating with pressure sensor and tip space. It has also different length replaceable bushings corresponding to length of engine nozzles to provide pressing of housing to mounting hole for nozzle by means of standard fasteners. Housing is provided with stop. Projection for lower end face of bushing whose upper end face is designed engagement with pressure member of said standard fasteners. To provide measurement of compression in cylinders of carburetor engines, tip has replaceable hollow flexible head which is to be partially fitted in mounting hole for spark plug or injector of cylinder.
