FIELD: electric machine engineering, determination of electric faults. SUBSTANCE: variable-induction pickup is placed near surface of rotor of synchronous machine. Signals arrives at input of spectrum analyzer when direct current is supplied to winding of rotating rotor. Spectral analysis can be conducted with the aid of computer to which input signal in digital form from analog-to-digital converter comes. It is possible to install two variable-induction pickups put in diametrical opposition relative to rotor. Measurement is conducted when there is no current in rotor winding to separate current components from residual magnetization and to determine degree of magnetic anisotropy of rotor. If there is no harmonic components even with respect to main harmonic of electromotive force then conclusion on absence of turn-to-turn short-circuit in rotor is made, if short- circuit is determined then their relative values and frequencies are compared with canonical composition of magnetic field of rotor of given synchronous machine and position of coil where turn-to-turn short-circuit is possible is found. EFFECT: unambiguous determination of turn-to-turn short-circuits in rotor. 1 dwg
