METHOD FOR PLASTY OF POSTERIOR WALL OF INGUINAL CHANNEL AT HERNIOPLASTY Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, herniology. SUBSTANCE: one should perform a linear cutaneous incision at the angle of 30-40 deg towards inguinal ligament in projection of internal ring of inguinal channel of 2-2.5 cm length. Subcutaneous fatty tissue and aponeurosis are resected. Then retractor's blade is inserted into the wound along inguinal channel direction. Distal part of the blade is used to lift the skin together with subcutaneous cellular tissue above anterior wall of inguinal channel. Along the blade's route one should resect aponeurosis of external oblique muscle of abdomen at its all length. Collum of hernial sac is obtained and treated. Electroprobe is introduced into distal part of hernial sac remained among the elements of spermatic funiculus. Then one should conduct gradual electrocoagulation of hernial sac inside the membranes of spermatic funiculus. After that a tension-free plasty of posterior wall is carried out with a transplant made of "IPK" material. The method enables to decrease the risk of postoperative complications.
