FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: in proposed mechanism wheel block is used consisting of wheel, axle necks and axial bearings. Wheel unit is installed for axial displacement in running mechanism of separate wheel. Axle neck is in meshing with gear train which takes up axial displacement of axle neck when changing the gauge. Gear train is driven by motor installed separately from running mechanism of separate wheel and propeller shaft installed for longitudinal displacement. EFFECT: provision of running mechanism suitable for operation at high speeds and change of wheel track gauge without switching delays, possibility of self-alignment of wheelset in curved section of track. 23 cl, 9 dwg
