SEPARATION UNIT Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering; space engineering for separation of service lines of rocket stages. SUBSTANCE: separation unit includes separable components connected by weak links. First of them is provided with flexible member and second is provided with bead. Support for actuator is made between flange members: first of them is tightly pressed to bead by means of nut and second one is pressed to first one by means of thrust nut and is provided with stop received by bore of first flange member. Flange members are mounted on second separable component between weak link and bead for motion of second flange component towards flexible member. Actuator may be made in form of toroidal tube having oval section with pyro chamber welded to cylindrical tips of tube. EFFECT: reduced impact loads; possibility of ensuring required tightness after separation; reduced mass. 2 cl, 1 dwg
