FIELD: electron-optical equipment, night viewing devices with electron-optical converters of second-third generation. SUBSTANCE: method to turn on electron-optical converter with microchannel plate makes labor- intensive wound transformers unnecessary, enables stability of start of piezotransformers to be raised and consumed currents to be diminished. Method presumes that with appearance of bright sources which images hit photocathode of electron-optical converter or with rise of natural illumination intensity of screen luminance increases, current from anode grows and unit of signal control begins to shift frequency of master generator from resonance frequency of piezotransformer which results in reduced output voltage of piezotransformer and correspondingly of voltage across microchannel plate which in its turn decreases luminance of screen of electron-optical converter. EFFECT: reduced labor input to manufacture of converter, decreased current consumption, simplified electron circuits controlling supply of converter and potential for automatic adjustment of luminance. 1 dwg
