FIELD: thermal investigations. SUBSTANCE: method involves following procedures: bottom parts of fuel-element simulators are cooled down by low-conductivity heat transfer from fuel-element simulators to high-heat-conductivity block through which they are passed and from the latter to cavity arranged over perimeter of high-heat-conductivity block by feeding cooling agent. Bottom parts of current leads are cooled down by feeding cooling agent to tank wherein they are disposed. Device for cooling fuel assembly with fuel-element simulators has bottom flange of fuel-assembly can wherefrom fuel-element simulators accommodating bottom parts of simulators and current leads are emerging, current leads being connected to common current duct through flexible conducting members. Bottom parts of fuel-element simulators are disposed in block made of high-heat- conductivity material. EFFECT: enhanced reliability and serviceability of fuel elements due to improved cooling conditions for bottom parts of simulators and current leads. 7 cl, 3 dwg
