FIELD: mass-exchange columns. SUBSTANCE: low-resistance packs of contact members for mass-exchange columns have diameters corresponding to column inner diameter and their height amounts from 40 to 300 mm. Said packs are formed by adjacent to one another layers from structurized in definite manner cloth or cloth-like material retaining its shape. Contact members are distinguished by the fact that deformed layers adjacent to one another with imparted definite shape consist of cloth or cloth-like material, preferably, from metal cloth. Said layers are located relative to one another so as to form many narrow through channels with cross-section close in shape to triangle, rectangle or equilateral hexagon. Angle of inclination of folds forming channels on separate layers of cloth material in pack to column axis amounts from 3 to 14 deg. If required, passed between cloth layers, for provision of mechanical stability of contact member packs is wire or thin rods in corresponding direction, or cloth layers in some points of touching are firmly secured to each other. Method of production of pure substances from mixture of substances by rectification with use of new pack contact members is also described. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 9 cl, 5 dwg
