FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention provides a catalytic distillation structure (10) comprising large number of vertically arranged catalyst-containing elements, each of which has two layers of gas-permeable material, such as wire gauze, connected in sites disposed at equal distances from each other to form integrated sheet and having pockets located on surface. Particulate catalyst placed inside these pockets provides reaction zone wherein catalytic reactions proceed. Gas-permeable sheets provide mass-exchange surfaces to carry out fraction distillation. Intermediate elements enable variation of catalyst density and loading thereof. Invention likewise provides a reactor incorporating proposed structure for simultaneously conducting reactions and separating products and reactants.
