PROCEDURE EVALUATING CHARACTERISTICS OF RADAR EXPOSED TO ACTIVE JAMMING Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2193782 C2

FIELD: radiolocation, tests of radars. SUBSTANCE: proposed procedure evaluating characteristics of radar exposed to active jamming consists in creation of radar situation with the use of immobile and/or mobile radar reflecting objects moving in surveillance zone of radar and of sources of active jamming, in measurement of characteristics of radar at different angular positions of antenna beam in surveillance zone of radar, in subsequent statistical processing of measurement results, in making decision on correspondence of obtained characteristics to required characteristics. In agreement with invention separate measurement of characteristics of radar in absence of active jamming and measurement of summary power of active jamming and own noise across output of radar exposed to active jamming are conducted. Results of above-mentioned measurements determine characteristics of radar exposed to active jamming, including detection range of radar reflecting object exposed to active noise. Reduced cost, duration, number and high recurrence of experiments with radar exposed to active jamming are obtained by separate measurement of accuracy of direction finding under radar situation with single active jammer and by measurement of summary power of active jamming and own noise across output of radar exposed to active jamming by side lobes and background of antenna radiation pattern. Results of above-mentioned measurements determine accuracy of direction finding of source of active jamming by side lobes and background of radar antenna radiation pattern. EFFECT: reduced cost, duration, number and high recurrence of experiments with radar exposed to active jamming. 3 cl, 3 dwg
