METHOD FOR EARLY DIAGNOSTICS OF SECONDARY PLACENTAL DEFICIENCY Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, obstetrics. SUBSTANCE: preliminarily one should exclude all cases of primary placental deficiency at pregnancy terms of 30-31 wk. Dopplerometric trial is conducted at pregnancy terms of 34-35 wk at detecting an average value of resistance index in both uterine arteries and resistance index in umbilical cord artery to calculate the ratio between these two values. In case of stable circulation in uterine-placental-fetal complex the circulation rate in uterine vessels exceeds the circulation rate in umbilical cord artery. At the development of the secondary placental deficiency a peripheral resistance in small spiral and radial uterine vessels is increased that leads to lower circulation intensity in uterine arteries and higher digital values of resistance index of uterine arteries. Dopplerograms show this by lower numerical values of resistance index. EFFECT: higher accuracy of diagnostics.
