FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: engine has cylinder block-and-crankcase unit, cylinder head and overhead timing gear shaft. Said camshaft is coupled with crankshaft by gear train arranged in enclosed housing. Gear train housing is made integral with cylinder block-and-crankcase unit and closed by end face cover. Gears of train are installed on cantilever pins secured on end face wall of crankcase. Intermediate member is made in form of box housing accommodating idler gear on upper plane of cylinder block-and-crankcase unit and open from side of upper plane of cylinder block-and-crankcase unit and from side of housing of camshaft overhanging with clearance "б". Port is made under housing on upper plane of cylinder block-and-crankcase unit through which gears are brought into meshing. Camshaft housing is secured through intermediate members on upper plane of cylinder block-and-crankcase unit with clearance "б" over heads. Intermediate members and box housing are made integral with camshaft housing. Housing of camshaft 3 has only two supports made on its ends in form of box housings.
