FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: invention is based on usage of thermoacoustic effect and makes it feasible to develop device recording form and energy of SHF pulse, simple and easy for manufacture, reliable in operation and ensuring high measurement precision. Device has plate radioparent for waves of SHF range, acoustic line and piezoelement connected to recorder placed in sequence. Acoustic impedance of radioparent plate and acoustic impedance of absorber of SHF radiation are tied up by relation ρ1c1≫ρ2c2. Acoustic line presents layer of deionized and degassed water medium. Relation of thickness L of said layer to velocity cs of sound in it equal to time ts of run of acoustic pulse through this layer and time tn of interference are intercoupled by relation L/cs = ts>tn and selection of material of absorber is defined by adherence to condition that time of run of sound pulse through thickness of skin layer of absorber is considerably less that length of SHF pulse.
